Katherine or Catherine? What is your preferred spelling regarding females of the 15th and 16th century? I've always preferred the usage of Katherine for reasons I can't quite explain (although being engaged to a Katherine probably plays a significant part) but what about yourselves? Katherine of Aragon or Catherine of Aragon for example? Maybe you prefer an alternate spelling.
An interesting paragraph on the wikipedia page of 'Catherine' of Aragon states the following 'Catherine herself signed her name "Katherine", "Katherina", "Katharine" and sometimes "Katharina". In a letter to her, Arthur, her husband, addressed her as "Princess Katerine". Her daughter Queen Mary I called her "Quene Kateryn", in her will' (Which begs the question why the page uses C instead of the K). Any visitor to her tomb in Peterborough Cathedral will be aware it is marked 'Katharine Queen of England'.
So...K or C? And any reason why?

Catherine is the modern spelling, I tend to go with how they signed themselves, and always "K" for Katherine of Aragon. I tend to use "K" for all of his wives although sometimes I forget for Kat Howard, but that may be so I can differentiate them "C" is the modern spelling and why most historians use it I suppose
